Colour Work Diary

Evaluation
My photography session on the topic 'Colour' was quite difficult in my opinion due to there being limited amounts of colour and when you think of colour you dont want dull colours you want exciting colours which jump out at you ignite a creative spark. However I feel like I managed to find a good amount of colour and take some interesting shots. Once you realize there is colour everywhere it is easier to photograph. Although the description of colour itself is quite vague I did find it easier when we studied lines as opposed to colour. These are a couple of raw shots I liked:

I chose this image as one of my favourites as I loved the bright yellow of the paint on the drain cap, I thought it was really bright and showed off exactly what colour is meant to be and how it should be described.

I chose this photo as I loved the way the colour of the red leaf contrasts to the background green leaves, it fascinated me because they both come from the same plant but are such different colours.  I love the way this colour change and contrast is completely natural, this isnt man made, nobody changed the colour of the leaf it just happened, I love how the other leaves around it are almost like a small life cycle, as you can see the other leaves turning the same red.

Progression:
If I could progress with this topic I would, however my demographic would be coloured things rather than outdoor things. My favourite photo I took was this one:

This photo inspired me to come up with the idea for a hair-colour themed shoot. I have a plan to experiment with people who have various different colours, shades and tones of hair to see how they all look together. I think it would be very interesting to create maybe a hair rainbow. If I was to continue with the theme of colour then this would be one of my independent shoots/projects.

In the short time I studied colour I feel I already have a different outlook on the theme, I no longer see a vague instruction but an endless opportunity. When I first pictured colour I thought of the normal things: grass, sky, flowers but through this 'Colour' shoot I developed a love for the theme.
