Pattern Work Diary

Evaluation
My photography session on the topic 'Pattern' I really enjoyed due to the fact that there is pattern in nearly everything if you look close enough for example, there is man made pattern such as the metal indents on drain caps, zebra crossing markings or staircases but there is also natural pattern in plants and nature. I found lots of pattern inspiration outside on the college campus for this project. Although again the description of pattern is quite vague, you are able to put together the key aspects of patterns and what they mean and take interesting shots. Some of my favorites are:

I like this photograph because I love the way the patterned tape contrasts with the background that is yellow and orange skips. The leading line is an odd one as the eye is sort of drawn down the diagonal tape.

I like this photograph because I love the repetitiveness of the pattern the way it is exactly the same the whole way throughout the picture, it keeps the flow of the eye. The lace structure almost acts as waves going down through the picture.

Progression:
If I could progress with this topic I definitely would. One idea that sprung to mind was organisation and pattern within people, so people genetics, maybe create a family tree picture with the family physically representing the family tree and the genetic patterns. Another idea would be to organize people into a pattern. I also like the idea of organized chaos for example people exiting gigs or train stations or football fans leaving matches or commuters in rush hour. I wish some of my photos had better angles and composition to make them have more of a story behind them.
