This is a photograph of parallel road markings taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by Rich Legg. This photo has four sets of parallel lines. I find parallel lines very interesting because they never meet, they are a continuous pair of lines that will never meet or cross over. The photographer has shot this photo in a portrait format to get as much of the road and the markings in as possible, he has kept the start of the lines in the middle of his photograph.

These rail road lines are made up of millions of single lines, two lines either side with interconnecting lines in the middle. These rail road lines are made up of millions of single lines, two lines either side with interconnecting lines in the middle.

This is a photo of the layers on the inside of a rock. These layers create lines in the rock when parts of the rock erode away. The naturalness of the rock shows in the fact that all the layers are different widths apart, the light hits the rock at the right angle to make the layers appear in all shades of purple.

I chose this photograph because I love the way the lines draw into the middle of the photo, these lines are the leading lines of the photograph.

my own definition: Line - a continuous stretch of varying lengths.
