Evaluation:
My session on photojoiner/photomontage was very interesting, at first I struggled with the concept, is it meant to look like one image or multiple? Is it meant to look edited or just like you've cut up a photograph? Eventually I got the hang of it and I really adore my finished results. I think my best example of photomontage would be my portrait one, I don't think the potted plant or the building had the same effect. These are my photographs from this session...

I love this attempt at photo joiner/photomontage because I like the way it fits together and looks really messed up due to the different angles that I too this photograph from.

Progression:
If I could progress with the technique of photomontaging I would definitely give it a go but I would definitely focus on people and facial photomontaging. One progression I had was that it might be interesting to merge two photographs together so one of someone very young and one of someone very old and see the effects of that.

I chose this image because I think this shows very authentic photomontaging/joining technique, the viewer can see the photo montage by recognizing the different lights on the areas of the photograph.

I chose this photomontage/photojoiner due to the fact I think it shows off the multiple angles of the face within the one image.

I love the use of photomontage/photojoiner in this situation because it creates depth within the image and helps show the street off as if you were walking down it.

I love this photomontage because I think it adds dimension to the image. I like the layered textured effect the photomontage gives the image.

Again with this example of photomontage, depth is added to the picture by the multiple squares and they layered effect it gives.

This is my favourite photomontage example due to the fact the photographs create a curved effect, they give a fishbowl effect to the image which emphasizes the middle of the photograph.

I chose this image because its textured and patterned and this is visible in the image due to the way the colours and chipped paint is very visible.

This image is another example of chipped paint on a more large scale, you can see on this image how the texture would be flaky and chipped.

This photograph shows texture because you can see the jaggedy feel of the rocks beneath the water, the reflection and shadow of the water adds texture to the photograph.

This image shows texture due to the way the fur is fluffy at the top and then smoother at the bottom, the change in appearance adds texture to the photograph.

My definition: Texture - the feel of something and way something looks to touch.

Evaluation
My photography session on 'texture' was very good as texture can be found everywhere anywhere so it was fairly easy to find the photographs. The difficult part of this topic would have been the angle we shot from as we had to find the angle that shows the texture the most as you want the viewer to see the photograph and know what the point of it was. One part of this topic I enjoyed a lot was finding interesting textures that could be shown in photographs, most of the photographs for this topic depended on natural light and therefore had to be taken outside as even the flash didn't provide the light quality necessary. I chose this image because I adore the way the repetitive pattern creates texture on the jacket.

I chose this image because I like the way the tree sap texture stands out against the tree bark.

Progression
If I could carry on with this topic I definitely would due to the fact that there are endless opportunities with texture due to the fact it is everywhere from brick work to cotton sheets to grass to sand. One idea for progression that I have would be to focus on extreme close up focused texture for example zooming right in to a cashmere jumper or some other type of rougher wool. Over all I did really enjoy working on texture due to the sheer variety there is.

I chose this image because I think texture is shown here on the elephants skin, the older an elephant is the more textured and dry its skin becomes.

I chose this image because the layers in the wooden stump add texture to the photo. Another textured element of this photograph would be the cracks within the wooden stump.

I chose this photograph because I think the way the wood is weaved adds texture as well as the fact that the wood is stripped.

The way these rocks are put together adds a jaggedy sharp texture to the photograph, also the fact the rocks are odd off cuts.

I think this photograph of a leaf is a good example of natural texture due to the fact that all the roots spread throughout the leaf are visible.

I think this image shows texture because the rusted chain doesn't rust evenly only certain areas show the rusty texture, another example of texture here is the cracked wooden post and the crunchy dry grass.
